Bennetts wallabies

The wallabies.

One of the few petting farms in New Zealand where you can meet wallabies up close — and they're every bit as charming as you'd hope.

Bennetts wallabies originally come from Tasmania, and were introduced to South Canterbury in the 1870s. They've since become a widespread pest in parts of New Zealand — which is exactly why we keep them. Meeting our wallabies face to face is the easiest way to learn the story of how they got here and the problems wild populations cause.

Ours are gentle, curious and very used to visitors. Come at feeding time and you'll have their full attention.
